Final Fantasy: Dissidia, fighter style game to come out for the PSP mid 09'

Although this is kind of old news, t thought this is worthy of a discussion. This game is plain and simple. A fighting game. Think Soul Calibur, but with Final Fantasy characters! The characters that you can play as seem to be a mix of characters from a bunch of FF's.

The good guy's you can play as seem to be from my research,

The bad guy's which i'm not entierly sure if you can get to play as are,

This very well may push me to actually get a PSP later on in 09' as long as others are willing to get one.. so i'll actually have someone to play with that I sort of know! I'm not sure if there is much of any point to it.. all it seems is that you fight random FF characters in a pretty awesome three-dimensional field map.

What're your thoughts?

Sooo any multiplayer will consist of every tom dick and sally playing as sephy and tidus...such a shame that they have to take this path for the next game in the series. They'll also probably just make up completely random movesets for most of the characters...

Most of the people who would play this probably wouldn't know who half the characters are...damn kids!

All in all, i find this to be a bad idea, but hey..it's Square-Enix..they gotta make money somehow nowadays

E:on a side note...they're missing some kickass characters..i.e. Cid, Sabin, Beatrix, Barrett, Biggs and Wedge...

Hahaha, that would be neat to see some of themmm in the game.. but sadly.. I donnn't think they will be making an appearance! I wish this wasn't being released to the PSP though.., but I imagine from some of the games i've seen go to the PSP they probably aren't having very high sell records.. (minus some obviously super awesome games.)

I'm not so sure how well Barrett would work. Isn't he the guy from FF7 that likes to swear a lot? I mean, considering his.. "handicaps" n' all..

Sabin, Cid, and Beatrix I could see being implemented. Biggs and Wedge would probably make the game.. feel... a bit out of place to me. I don't see it really fitting the tone of the game, maybe it's just me though. It would be neat to see them in some game thougghh.
